Events on the campsite and around the campsite

Dear Camper

The items we mention are just a few of the things there are to do around in the Dordogne. On your arrival you only have to ask and we can supply lots of information leaflets and even books all in the English language.
The campsite is situated just on the outskirts of the Quiant village of St. Jory de Chalais, just 4 kms off theN21 main road and well within an easy walking distance. Here you will find the local butcher, Mr. Deleron, who is a master at home made regional products, noted for miles around.Jean Jaques, is the local baker and there is a village "supermarket", where you can buy nearly everthing.

The campsite is an ideal start point for day trips and tours. You will find suggestions for these at the end of this site.
Fancy something else? Just ask! That's what we are here for. If you prefer why not spend the day with us on site in the peace and tranquillity, idle the time away, spotting birds rare in the U.K. or delight at the butterflies that abound.
In the evening there is no need for a taxi at our campsite (draught beer is around 7.5 by volume be warned!!!!)
it's just 150 yards back to your caravan or tent, straight into bed and then ready for another hot summer day tomorrow.
Camping Maisonneuve is open from 1st of April to the end of October every year which gives an ideal view of
the ever changing Dordogne scenery.
For further information and details before April 2002 or to make a reservation anytime of the season, please telephone, fax or leave a message for Colin and Chris Maclean on 01908 616886.
After April please call 0033 5 53 55 10 63. We will always call you back.  For mail:

OTHER AMENITIES THE CAMPSITE HAS TO OFFER:

Above all we point out that we very much wish to encourage the familiy atmosphere, indeed this campsite
is based on family traditions and values. Over 25 acres are at your diposal, feel free to roam where you like. It is a point of ours that nobody shall remain anonymus.
You are encouraged to join us for a drink in the bar each evening. Ask us questions,we will most likely have the answer and even if we don't  we would be only to happy to find out for you.
If you would like to explore the area we realise everyone has different tastes, see us!
We know the "Périgord" very well and are pleased to be of service. If on the other hand you prefere
to savour the tranquillity of the campsite and spend a releaving day or two on site. Feel free! We will
not get in your way!
We, Stefan and Doris are at your disposal any time.

Children

This location is a paradise, kids can play here and in safety, let them roam around to do as they like. Let them play in the creek on the campsite boundary, fish in our pond, walk in the woods,  swim
in our pool, play table football or table tennis in fact almost anything.
The only thing we ask is keep an eye on them, especially near water.

Pitches

Camping Maisonneuve  is a small friendly campsite with 40 pitches/placements so as you can imaginespace is really not a problem on 25 acres of land! All pitches are at least 100 sq m and boarded by trees or shrubs.
Every pitch has an electrical point hook up (remember your adapter!) sixteen of which also have water connction points.  The design of each pitch was made with space in mind. No pitch or placement will  you ever encounter more than two
neighbours unlike some where four or five is quite normal. Each morning with Camping Maisonneuve you will wake up to no road noise, no noisy neighbours, just the odd chance of crowing Cockerel!

Au Chateau d'eau
Restaurant
Bar      Musique       Jeux

We would like to welcome all our guests to our restaurant "Au Chateau d'eau", which is to be found just beside the swimming pool in an old modified barn. It's here that you will find our regional and international dishes. If it's steak and chips you would like or if it's a classic regional French dish or our daily changing "Plat du Jour", just try us!
Fancy a snack? We have them! In fact with a little advance notice we can cater for the special "Menu perigordine" at your request.
Situated within "Au Chateau d'eau" our fully licensed bar caters for most Europeans tastes. Her you can purchase soft drinks for the kids, cocktails for the lady or some french and german draft beers (half pint or pint) or fine other beers, all served icecold, just right for those long hot Dordogne evenings so often found in the summer.
Evenings we have satellite TV and music if you require from a large collection of CDs and videos covering everything from the 60s Flower Power, to Rock, to Blues, to Pop. If you are at all musical, you can have a free hand to try this talent out with our band equipment, drums, guitar, keybord, the whole groups here!
