About Camping Maisonneuve

Hello – we are Russ & Lorna Watsham, the owners of Camping Maisonneuve. We have always loved the outdoor life and the freedom camping has given us as a family to slow down and discover new surroundings. For many years we have enjoyed visiting campsites all over the UK and Europe, getting away at least every other weekend in our caravan. It had long been a dream of ours to run our own campsite.

We moved from Hampshire in the UK to St Jory de Chalais with our three young children in December 2013. Our aim is to instil a relaxed family feel to the campsite, however with 40 pitches on 26 acres we have enough space to cater for everyone, whether it be peace and quiet, or family fun you are looking for.

Camping Maisonneuve is set in 26 acres in Périgourdine countryside, and was a working farm up to 1990. The campsite was founded by Stefan & Doris Cilimba, who did all the hard work getting the relevant permissions for the campsite, the licence for the bar and restaurant, and establishing the campsite, they opened for business in 1993. We wish Stefan & Doris all the best in their retirement, and we look forward to welcoming you all to Camping Maisonneuve!
